The Festival chooses a set of colors to make the annual Festival colorway, then Festival vendors can choose to dye products in these colorways. Festival goers make finished items from the kits, then enter them into the following year’s contest.

This year’s theme is Tin For Ten: a set of four greys to which you can add a 5th color from the Chelle Colorado color card. Kits are available in all my undyed bases. We will keep these colors available until August 1, 2022. Each batch will vary slightly in color; keep this in mind as you plan your design and order enough so that all your fiber will be from the same dyelot. Also, keep your proof of purchase (product tag or purchase receipt) to submit along with your contest entry.

For spinning or felting fiber, choose from Merino, Targhee, Alpaca, or 60/40 Polwarth Silk; 1 oz. per color (5 oz. total). For yarn, choose San Luis Valley 2-ply worsted weight yarn, 170 yds/skein.
