Description
This yarn started with a small herd of pampered Shetland sheep, raised just south of Denver, Colorado. I love working with small-scale ranchers who adore them as much as I do. The wool has been processed gently: no chemical bath to burn off the vegetable matter, just cleansed with mild detergent, then dyed in the “colors of Colorado” and fixed with vinegar. This yarn is made especially for stranded colorwork: it has a rustic spin to it, and the longer fibers help it to wear better. The undyed base is actually a light tan in color, so its kettle-dyed colors are especially rich.
